Wine making has come a long ways since the Canadians took charge of developing the 28-day wine kits during the 90’s. The grapes for the kits are from California, France, Italy, Chile and Australia - growing regions that are known for their quality and value.

We stock the BEST 28-day and 45-day concentrates from Winexpert (makers of Vintner's Reserve, , Selection Premium, Selection International, Selection Estates and Island Mist) and Spagnol/RJ Grape (which produces Vino del Vida, Grand Cru and Cellar Classics). These two companies have led the development of concentrates in Canada that mature in 4 to 6 weeks.

You'll be absolutely astonished at how good these kit wines will be. In fact, the quality of the wines will be such that you’ll want to share them with your closest friends and relatives at Christmas and to celebrate special occasions. Many of my customers relate the wines they are making to ones that they have paid $7—$15 per bottle and we have all have $20 plus wines that didn't pass muster.

One of my better wine customers presented some of the kit wines to a group of individuals in a blind tasting that included commercial wines. His kit wines rated better than some wines that cost in the $30 range. Now, everyone has there own expectation and own levels of satisfaction but one thing is certain, the quality of wines made by using the 28-day and 45-day kits far exceeds the $2 per bottle cost.

The initial process of making a batch of wine with a 28-day kit will take about 30 to 45 minutes. Each 6-gallon batch of kit wine will yield about 27 fifths of wine per kit. Bottling takes place after 4-week to 6-weeks from the start and the wine can be consumed immediately. It will get better with age but shelf life is suggested to be in the nine (9) to eighteen (18) months range.

I have detailed the use of this equipment so that topping up with wine or water is totally unnecessary with my procedures See recommended Basic 28-Day Wine Kit Instructions.
