Organic Blue Agave Nectar

Agave is the primary ingredient in tequila. Agave syrup is derived from the processing of the piña of a weber blue agave, the only species used to produce authentic tequila.

Diabetics can use as sugar substitute due its low glycemic index

100% organic blue agave, non-GMO, and allergen-free. 


Blue Agave Syrup Specification:

  • Brix: 74° - 76°
  • pH: 4.0 - 6.0
  • Fructose: 80% - 84%
  • Dextrose: 13% - 15%
  • Sucrose: 2% - 4%

There are basically two (2) basic types of Tequila, 100% Agave and Mixto.

The most common commercial type of Tequilas is 100% Agave which is made entirely from blue agave with no added ingredients.

Mixto is a type of tequila has of up to 49% of other sugars and additives mixed into the blue agave wash before fermentation. The golden hue to this tequila that is developed by use of the other sugar substitutes earns this category the label of “gold” tequila.

Mixto Ingredients

  • Water: 4.5 gallons
  • Blue Agave Nectar: 6 pounds
  • Cane Sugar: 2 pounds
  • Dry Tequila Yeast: 11 grams
  • Nutrients: 5 teaspoons
Materials
  • Brew Pot
  • Heat Source
  • Thermometer
  • Long Handled Spoon or Paddle
  • Fermentation Pail & Lid
  • Airlock

Mix 6 pounds of agave nectar and 2 pounds of cane sugar with 4.5 gallons of water at 70-80 degrees into your fermenter.  And add your yeast.

For a Mixto recipe, simply mix 9 pounds of agave nectar and 3 pounds of cane sugar with 4 gallons of water at 70-80 degrees into your fermenter.  And add your yeast.
