DIY Label Remover

DIY Label Remover

To remove labels and glue from bottles, you can create a mixture that works to dissolve the adhesive and break down the paper fibers. Here’s a DIY solution that should help:

Label and Glue Removal Mixture

Ingredients:
2 cups -- warm water
1 cup -- white vinegar – helps dissolve adhesives
2 tablespoons -- baking soda – mildly abrasive to break down glue and paper
2 tablespoons -- dish soap – loosens adhesive
A few drops -- essential oil (optional) – eucalyptus or citrus oils are known to help with sticky residues

Instructions:
1. Combine the water, vinegar, baking soda, and dish soap in a large bowl. Stir until everything is well mixed.
2. Apply the mixture to the label on your bottle. For best results, soak a cloth or paper towel in the solution and wrap it around the bottle.
3. Let the bottle sit for about 15-20 minutes.
4. Gently peel the label off. You may need to use a scraper or the edge of a credit card to help remove stubborn parts.
5. Rinse the bottle in warm, soapy water to get rid of any residue and give it a final wipe.

For Harder Residues:
If any glue remains, apply a bit of rubbing alcohol or cooking oil (like olive oil or coconut oil) and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, scrub it off with a sponge or cloth.

This mixture is effective on most labels, though some stronger adhesives may require multiple treatments
