Big Brew 2021

The 24th Annual Big Brew will be held at our Belmont location in the park on the river on the First Saturday in May - May 1st.

This will be our biggest and best BIG BREW yet.

Since 1988, the US Congress has recognized the first Saturday in May as National Homebrew Day. The American Homebrewers Association (AHA) created AHA Big Brew as an annual event to celebrate National Homebrew Day around the world. Alternative Beverage has been celebrating this day by hosting homebrewers and the Carolina Brewmasters in a gathering of enthusiasts that bring their equipment and brew in our park on the lake.

One of the big features of the this event is the communal brew-in and our goal is to improve on the numbers of brewers participating from last year. Brewers pre-registering will be able to purchase ingredients at a discounted rate.

Homebrewers are encouraged to bring their kettles, cookers, propane and their favorite brewing necessities to our Belmont warehouse to brew their batch of beer. We will supply water for brewing, ice and enough chill stations to take care of a post boiling chill down needs.

The event is open to anyone that enjoys good beer, wants to learn how to brew, wants to see different brewing techniques, wants to meet local homebrewers and talk beer and you don't have to brew to participate. We will have a wide array of sale items available for your consideration.

Home brewers are encouraged to bring their equipment and brew the batch of their choice of beer on a beautiful Spring day after a lost year due to Covid. The weather is almost always nice on the lake in the spring.

The gates will be open as early as 8am.
We will maintain two chill stations to cool the batches.
Water will be available for brewing.

12 PM David's Dogs on the Riverside
2-4 PM Country singer/songwriter Tanner Burch on the Riverside
3-5 PM Country Musician Sean Mettler at Belmont Brewing
5-8 PM Classic Rock cover band Stateline Crossing on the Riverside

Sandwich Express & Mabry's Que House will be serving food!
Cigars by Little Havana Humidor will be available.

Bring lawn chairs and blankets and your dog and make a day of it - here by the Lake.
