Oxygenator Instructions
Oxygenator Use & Information
Oxygen creates healthy yeast cell membranes capable of completing the 12-30 repetitive buddings a single cell can accomplish during a strong fermentation,. Bud initiation, growth, separation, and healing of bud scars occur faster with oxygenated yeast cells. Dramatically reduced lag times, faster fermentations with lower terminal gravity. less by-products, off flavors, and esters all accompany oxygenation.
Once you have experienced the difference PURE OXYGEN makes in fermentation you'll never go back to aeration again.
The reality of fermenting a batch with an starting gravity of 1.066 with less than 3 hours lag time, to a terminal gravity of 1.006 using 2007 lager yeast in one weeks less time than it's aerated sister brew (terminal gravity of 1.014) is a real convincer.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS and CAUTIONS:
Avoid handling the porous stone. The oils from our hands can clog .5 micron pores.
It is suggested that you detach cylinder when not in use.
Do not store oxygen near highly combustible material, especially oil or grease.
Never place oil or grease on the oxygen regulator or cylinder. Oxygen is explosive in contact with oil or grease. Oxygen vigorously accelerates combustion.
Instructions on Use with Wyeast Yeast Packs:
Screw the regulator, counterclockwise (left hand thread) onto the oxygen cylinder, hand tight.
Soak the air stone in iodophor or B-Brite overnight. Rinse as appropriate. Never soak the stone in a bleach solution.
To inject oxygen into a starter or main wort, place the air stone in the solution and turn the regulator on for 10-15 seconds.
If you make a starter, inject with oxygen and let it become active as usual.
Always inject oxygen into the main wort for 10-15 seconds whether you make a starter or not.
Instructions on Use with White Labs Yeast Vials:
