Crystal is used to improve body and aid head retention, while creating a malty sweet background. Used by all-grain and extract brewers alike because it does not require mashing. No enzyme activity is present.
For Pilsner beer, use 3 - 7% to balance the flavors of the malt and hops.
Provides a rich, golden color without significant flavor increase.
For light amber beer, use 5 - 15% to provide color, sweetness and body.
